Course: Holistic Homeopathy

This course is primarily aimed at students and practitioners of holistic health and holistic psychology.

Homeopathy is a healing system that has arisen within the context of western medicine, but its basic principles are very different than those of standard medicine. It operates on a different level: whereas standard medicine is the quintessence of physical medicine, the principles of homeopathy have more in common with energy medicine and even thought medicine. But the implications of these differences for practice have never been thought through and properly resolved. A holistic practice using homeopathy needs to reflect the proper understanding of the following topics and issues:

— Types of healing and systems of medicine: physical medicine, energy medicine, thought medicine, causal healing.

— Notions of health and disease in homeopathy and in western medicine.

— Intrinsic patterns found in humans, animals, plants, and minerals.

— History of homeopathy: videotape and discussion

— The Laws of Healing.

— Provings and "shadow provings."

— Classical homeopathy vs. combination remedies.

— Constitutional prescribing vs. acute prescribing.

— Homeopathic remedies: how they are made. Different kinds of remedies.

— Miasms.

— Materia Medica: essence, generalities, keynotes, pathologies.

— Plant remedies: general characteristics.

—Mineral remedies: general characteristics. Introduction to Scholton's nomenclature

— Animal remedies: general characteristics

— Drug remedies: general characteristics

— Case-taking, repertorising
